Horror Film: Frankenweenie Pays Homage to Classic Horror

This excellent trailer for Tim Burton's Frankenweenie (2012) pays homage to Universal Studios' Monster flicks from the 1930's/1940's. I would love to incorporate this style into my own work somehow.
